This year, the eighth international sculpture symposium - Even Be'Galil (Stone in the Galilee) is being held at Ma'alot Tarshiha, during Chol HaMo'ed (the intermediary days of the Passover Festival), at the site of the Monfort Lake, on the eastern slope of Ma'alot. This year, the sculpture symposium will be held on April 3, 4, and 5, 1999. The dates during which the sculptors shall be accommodated for the purpose of creating their sculptures is from March 21, 1999 to April 6, 1999. This is a unique artistic event, during which sculptors from Israel and abroad are accommodated in Ma'alot Tarshiha, while they spend ten days sculpting their creations at open workshops and stands, for the visitors at the site, and they create statues from giant blocks of stone.
