Social Services
Maalot Tarshiha Municipality

Social Services- General Information:

The Social Services are offered to the town residents, from birth age to old age, on three levels: individual, group and community treatment, according to the policy set by the Ministry of Social Services and the municipality. The services aim to promote the welfare of the individual, the family and the community, in order to improve their functioning. This is done through treatment, rehabilitation, consultation and guidance.

The work is based on advanced professional intervention methods implemented by professional and skilled social workers that invest in continuing education programs beyond their B.A. or M.A. studies, specializing in specific professional fields such as: children and youth, marriage counseling, old age, community work, handicaps, addictions etc.

The services that are offered are compulsory services and optional services.

Compulsory services: are derived from different laws (see details further on) that the responsibility for their implementation is on the social workers.
Optional services: are derived from regulations of the Ministry of Social Services and the policy of the Ma'alot Tarshiha municipality in the social field.

The treatment of families is prioritized by the severity of the problem, the extent of danger it reflects on the individual and the family, the chance for a change in their functioning and the measure of motivation.

We address every application; we examine it thoroughly in order to minimize the waiting list for treatment as much as possible. At the same time, we provide support and follow-up for families in which the treatment has ended or in chronic situations.
